Start building now and you can have these yard games built for the July 4th weekend!

How-To

Giant Tower of Blocks:

Take your wood and measure the width. In our case we are using a normal 2x4, which isn’t exactly 2 inches x 4 inches. The width of our boards are 3 ½ inches so we make our cuts 10 ½ inches long. If your wood is wider or narrower adjust your cut accordingly (multiply width times 3). Now that you have your length figured, cut 54 sections to make the game 18 rows high.

Materials: (7) 2-in x 4-in x 96-in

Corn hole.

Take a sheet of ½-in or ¾-in plywood and cut out (2) 24-in x 48-in sheets. (in our case we used ¾-in)
Make a frame out of 2x4’s by cutting (2) 48-in cuts and (2) 21-in cuts and screwing them together into a 24-in x 48-in rectangle.
Attach the sheet of plywood to the frame with screws.
Next prop the back of the board 12-in off the surface and measure the angle for your legs.
Our legs have an 8 degree cut and are 11-in long from the long edge of the angle.
Measure 1 ¾ inches in from the square end and 1 ¾ inches from the side for your hole. Drill it out to ½ inch and radius the end with a jig saw or band saw.
Measure your frame the same distances to drill a matching 1/2-in hole and run a ½-in x 3 ½-in long carriage bolt into the hole and attach the legs with a fender washer and wing nut.
Once the legs are complete measure down 9-inches from the top of the board and 12 inches in from the side to make a center point for your hole. Use a 6-in hole saw to drill your hole, or draw a 6-in circle with a compass and cut it with your jig saw.

Boom! Your board is complete!

You can add finishing touches such as filling screw holes and paint or stain to give your board a personal look.

Material:
(4) 2x4x96
(1) 4x8 sheet plywood
(4) 1/2x3 ½ in carriage bolts
(4) ½-in fender washers
(4) ½-in wing nuts
(1) Box of 3-in or 3 ½-in screws
(1) Box of 1 ¼-in screws
(1) 6-in hole saw (optional)

Ladder Golf:

We are using 3/4-in pvc pipe, cut your pipe into (14) 24-in sections and (12) 12-inch sections. Take 3 of the 24 inch and all 6 of the 12 inch sections and glue them together using (2) 90 degree fittings at the top and 4 t-fittings in the center. At the bottom glue on 2 more t-fittings to hold the legs. Do all of these steps a second time to create a second ladder. Do not glue the remaining (8) 24-in cuts, leave these legs loose for easy storage.

Drill out 12 golf or tennis balls the size of your nylon rope (we used a 3/8-in drill). Once drilled cut 12 sections of braided nylon rope to 24 inches, attach 2 balls to each rope and tie knots at each end of the ball to keep it from sliding away from the ends, and your ready to play!

Materials:
(4) to 5 3/4-in x 10-ft pvc pipe
(4) 90 3/4-in fittings
(12) 3/4-in t-fittings
(1) can pvc cement
3/8-in nylon braided rope (at least 12-ft)
(12) golf or tennis balls (different colors help, or just paint balls)
