Another easy woodcarving project for my fellow woodcarvers to try.
This whiskey barrel shot glass is fun to carve, and is a pleasure to use after it's finished.

This shot glass is carved from a piece of seasoned white birch. I carved out the "bowl" part that holds the liquid using my mora hook knife. I then shaped and carved the design of the wood barrel using a small rough rider barlow pocket knife. This project was finished with a coat of food grade 100% tung oil, the left to dry for a few days before using.
Instead of using the hook knife to carve out the "bowl" part, you could easily enough drill it out. I opted to use the hook knife simply because I didn't have a drill bit that would would.
